Ode to potatoes!

Lance and I got back from Duluth just in time to join in the festivites that are Barnesville's Potato Days. It is a huge festival/celebration that happens once a year in our town. Loads of fun, let me tell you!

Lance and his friend, Mike decided to run the 5K at about 11:30pm Friday night. The race started at 8am the next morning! Nothing like planning ahead and/or training!! With that said, they did great:) Here are some pics!

Should you be warming up??

Not that way!!!

Going going going...over half done here!

Crossing the finish line!!!

Busy week...

OK, I know I said I would update/post pics earlier but it's been a crazy week! So here are some pictures for you!!

I took pictures of my new scraproom (they are on the side bar) as I moved downstairs to make room for Lily/the nursery. We painted and moved everything early on in the pregnancy so my old scraproom (which is next to our bedroom) is sitting empty waiting for our second baby. I thought it would be hard to see the empty nursery every time I walk to our room but it's not. I know it will be filled soon. I can feel it in my heart.

The following is a picture of my first attempt at knitting a scarf (this is self-taught!):

If you look close (or not so close!), you can see that the scarf is getting wider as it gets longer! WTH?? You can also see a couple of larger holes and some added rows halfway through the scarf! EEK!!

The next pictures are after 1 -1hr lesson! What a difference!! I'm adding the fringe on the scarf today and moving on to the next project. Another scarf but one with a pattern and design!

The color didn't show up very well in these. The scarf is blue, green, purple & fuchsia. It's very pretty!

I also wanted to thank Jewels for nominating me for the Pink Rose Award.

Jewels and I unfortunately have some very close similarities in that we both just lost our baby girls. Jewels lost her sweet Angel Rose a couple of weeks after we lost Lily. My heart has ached for her as I know ~exactly~ what she was going through and all the pain and heartache she was feeling. I feel like we are bonded sisters now.

It is a beautiful day today! The sun in shining and I am happily huddled in my scraproom watching football and the oly.mpics while working on my BF's bachelorette invites. I have to get them done this weekend as Lance and I are off on another work trip this week. Must.get.them.mailed!!!

Let the TTC games begin!!

I'm sending her to you, Jewels, after I'm done with her!

Glorious rainy day!

It's raining cats and dogs here...and I love it! Except while Teddy, Lance and I walked to the post office to get the business mail and got caught in a downpour about 6 blocks away from home. Sprinting and I don't get along so much!! I'm much more of a jogger than actually runner. Aside from that, there is nothing better than spending a day at home when it's raining. I find the thunder to be comforting in an odd way. I'm also one of those people that stands in front of our 2-story bay window watching the lightning and rain as Lance is yelling at me to get away from the window while he's huddled in the basement with the animals! I've always loved storms!
I've got a bunch of pictures to show but alas they are still on my camera and I'm elbow deep in my to-do list. I'll add those tomorrow or tonight. I'll give you an update on the knitting (along with pictures) and how my first lesson yet. Thank God for that lesson! EEK!
My new blog picture is just one that I found online and loved. I love the bench and all the fall colors! We are having Lily's bench made by a local artist. He does fabulous custom mosaic tile. It won't be done until later this fall or winter, when things slow down for him. It's still high tourist season in the lakes country of MN!
I scheduled my 6 week post-partum appt with my OB but he's so busy that it will be more of a 10 week pp appt. Which is fine by me, so when he asks if we've had "relations" it won't be ~so~ against his rules! oops!! tee hee! I've actually been having a recurring dream that I'm waiting in the office and when my doc walks in, he looks at me and says "You look pregnant." (and not in a "your still fat" way either...a good way!) Wound't that be nice?! I think it's all wishful thinking!
A girl can hope, can't she?!!

1 month.

Wow.

I cannot believe Lily was born one month ago. It's seems like forever since I was pregnant. It seems like ages ago since we heard those horrible words..."We can't find a heartbeat".
It seems like just yesterday when I held our sweet little girl in my arms and watch Lance rock her in his arms. I still see her as clear as day in my memory. I'm very thankful for that.
Love you and miss you like crazy Miss Lily Ann Hope!

And now we are waiting again...waiting for AF to show, waiting for my 6 week post-partum appt, waiting to get that 1st normal cycle out of the way, waiting to TTC. Everyone keeps telling me that I am and will be extremely fertile. We'd like to use that to our advantage so we can get pregnant faster than the first time.

I am not good at waiting.
