2nd wind!

  • cleaned windows (inside & out) on the back half of the house -check
  • 3 loads of laundry done -check
  • dishwasher unloaded and reloaded -check
  • dog walked (a LONG one too!) -check
  • mail gone through, sorted, and shredded -check
  • groceries bought -check
  • a few miscellaneous errands run -check

It looks as if someone has gotten her energy back!! YAY!!! Now let's just hope Baby Haugen and the pregnancy gods allow that to continue. As I was getting ready for bed, I was looking at our bathroom and how much that needs a good thorough cleaning too. That's next on my list to tackle! And the rest of the windows!! Tonight I have Chix Nite with the B'ville girls so no cleaning tonight but tomorrow...Watch out! I'm also getting a much needed hair cut and color tomorrow. I haven't colored my hair since January as I had to cancel my appt in March due to finding out I was pregnant. Now that I'm out of the 1st trimester, it will be fine (according to my pregnancy books). I need something to "jazz up" my look as I don't want to fall into that frumpy phase. I'm still in the "Wow she's gained weight!" stage so maybe if I do something fun and exciting with my color and cut then people won't stare at the expanding mid section so much! A girl can hope!! :)

Weekend update and other ramblings!

This weekend was lovely. Lovely, you say?! Yes, lovely! My mom and her bff Renie stayed with us as they had a horse show in FF (just 25 miles away). I went to the show with them on Saturday to yell at them help them out. They have both improved so much since last year. Both them and their horses. My mom won her showmanship class and Renie got 3rd. YAY for them! They both had a really good show.
While we were frolicking amongst the horses, Lance and his parents moved the day bed and trundle out of the basement (it was in my soon-to-be scrap room) and moved some of my scrapbook room furniture downstairs. Love them!!! What a nice surprise to come home too! They all believe there is NO POSSIBLE way I'll fit all my scrap stuff in a room half the size of my previous room aka the nursery. I scoff that this and say "Where there's a will, there's a way!". No problem!! Lance's mom was nice enough to agree to taking the day bed for one of their spare rooms. That works great for us as it's a really nice day bed with brand new mattresses so we didn't want to just chuck it.
Sunday was spent with me making Grandma's pancakes and sausage for breakfast, some paper reading and yard work. It was really nice outside so none of the yard work was minded...by me at least. My partner in crime seemed less than enthused to be mowing but I found out if I nag enough, especially in a nasally voice, he caves faster! YAY!!!
The baby blob is still growing like a weed as I can tell from my ever expanding mid line. I'm still in my regular pants but I doubt it will be for much longer. Bring on the fat pants with elastic and all!!!

A ninja or kickboxer...

I'm not sure which, but that looks like the current occupation of our little one. I had my 2nd ultrasound yesterday and it was SO cool to see how much the baby had grown! It's not a blob anymore:) You could actually see his/her profile and the little arms and legs judo chopping everything. Amazing! The doctor said everything looks perfect and we're just going to have a big long baby! As long as it's healthy, that's all that matters! On other amazing news, I've actually lost weight since our last appt 3 weeks ago! I was shocked and surprised! I was sure with that I went up in weight because of my slightly protruding belly. Not so much! YAY for me!! I'm sure that will change at our next appt (in 4 weeks) but it's to be expected and I have absolutely no problem with it.

Oh baby!!

Sorry it's been so quiet on this blog but there's been a lot going on and not much I could talk about until now. We told our family on Sunday that...
WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!
How exciting is that?? We're thrilled of course! As are all our family and friends. I'm 12 weeks 3 days today and everything is moving along great. I just wanted to share the news.
There will be a lot more activity on this blog now that we are telling everyone! I'll post u/s pictures after our next appt next Tuesday.
